Why sin must be removed

What this talk is about

We know that Jesus came to set us free from our sins. This is common knowledge among all Christians. But many Christians do not understand why sin must be removed.

Certainly there is a desire for sin to be removed because all Christians will acknowledge the pain brought about through sin. But the reasons why sin must be removed go far deeper than that.

Sin is the one thing that stands between man and God. God wants His people to be perfect the way they were originally created, until Adam and Eve sinned. But perfection cannot be achieved while we continue to believe we are sinners and living under the power of sin. The message this week looks at all of these things.

Do this in remembrance of me.” 25 In the same way also the cup, after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; 15 and the prayer of faith will save the sick man, and the Lord will raise him up; and if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.
